House-eyelid

This house has an unusual name because of the roof, which, by analogy with the times, not only to protect the house from outside views of the nearby larger houses, but also on the vagaries of weather.

The starting point for this project was a typical Victorian terrace, dark and cramped, converted to a generous, light-filled home with open plan, two bathrooms and three bedrooms. Making this a busy and challenging area of the old district of the city into a home for a family of five is an important contribution to modern and sustainable design practices, where the problems of energy efficiency and economic indicators loom large.

Apart from the obvious distress, additional restrictions were two three-story buildings – side by side and with the rear side, as well as increased demands on thermal and performance.
