House in the Mexican desert

This house was built in the desert of Chihuahua in northern Mexico to the nearby golf club. Features of its architecture are defined by two main factors: the topography and local climate characteristics – drop daytime and nighttime temperatures exceed 20 degrees. In this regard, it was decided to use the thermal inertia of the soil and partially bury a house in the land.

The building has two facades – a simple rectangular volume with a street party and a complex, almost sculptural part of the slope.

Steep topography creates a complex multi-level, but a purposeful plan – the interiors are organized around a series of courtyards and break the roof, which provide light and ventilation and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
