The luxury hotel group Mandarin Oriental Group has opted for an unconventional choice for the design of its fifth hotel in Europe. The recently opened in Barcelona seeks to unite the traditional oriental style chain with a radiantly contemporary interior, something that seems simple but Patricia Urquiola has, without doubt.
According to Edouard Ettedgui, president of Mandarin, “the hotel redefines the traditional concept of luxury and, therefore, one of the keys have been the exquisite and modern interiors Asturian signed by the designer based in Milan. Urquiola has sought in this project work not only aesthetic but also the mental feeling of quality and comfort should be reflected to the last detail, the designer herself was finalized in person the night before the inauguration. The result is a spectacular modern design hotel incorporating reflections of the heritage eastern Pyrenees, where the care is synonymous with luxury finishes and quality Mandarin Oriental.
In the former headquarters of Hispano-American bank, in Paseo de Gracia and overlooking the Casa Batlló, the new facility promises to be a new focus in the heart of the city. To do this in several general public open spaces, which can only come for coffee. And of course, another attraction is the restaurant of Carme Ruscalleda Moments: a gastronomic space which includes the concept of restaurant Sant Pau, but adapted to the city.
Needless to say, the hotel has the most advanced hotel services, plus 98 exquisitely decorated rooms with prices ranging from 500 € the night the most economical to the exclusive Penthouse Suite, an apartment of 32 m2 with direct access and views, which costs € 8500. Other spaces highlight of the hotel are two restaurants and a casual cafe Moments complement to the restaurant, a pool and garden terrace on the top floor, a 1,000 m2 spa treatment luxury Mandarin Oriental, a fitness center and several meeting rooms equipped with the latest equipment for business presentations.
