Reconstruction of the townhouse in Washington, DC
Lorber Tarler Residence in the U.S. by Robert M. Gurney Architect. Old town house of the early 20th century, once used as an office building has been completely redesigned for housing.
Local building codes prohibit the change of facades on the main street, so they remained unchanged. But the “filling” of the block has been completely redone. A feature of the new solution was mnogosvetnoe space in the middle of the building, providing access to natural light at all levels.
After completion of the project won the AIA National Honor Award.
