Sliding home
Ross Russell and his wife Sally live in the village of Suffolk (England) in the house, at first glance, resembles a large barn. But the unassuming building with a rough architecture is really a unique project – “Rolling HomeĀ» (Sliding house). Just a few minutes the roof of the house may go off in the truest sense of the word.
The upper wooden facade of a building, hiding under a real house, put on the rails and with powerful motors may be moved at the request of the owner. Part of the “internal” house made of glass and summer provides an excellent platform for review stretched under high British air fields and meadows. At the same dank winter, when they want warmth and comfort, the upper facade is a good protection against wind and weather.
Authorship of the project belongs to the architectural office dRMM Architecture, for which Russia will supply a simple task: “To build a house to meet the age, grow vegetables, have fun and enjoy the East of England.”
