The concept of health has changed. And hospitals are no longer soulless spaces, but places designed to improve the quality of life. This principle has led the team of architects Foster + Partners to create a hospital filled with natural light, with large open spaces and interior layout designed to reduce stress.
“A well-designed hospital environment can reduce recovery times and contribute to better outcomes for patients.” This is the origin of the health resort Circle Bath, located southwest of Bath, UK, first in a chain of private hospitals to be opened throughout the perfidious Albion. Areas designed to improve patient comfort but also for medical staff.
A building dug into a hillside overlooking the surrounding countryside, and a compact design. The hospital is set around a central atrium bathed in natural light from the skylight above.
The range of colors used for the interior looks the same visual effect of relaxation and simplicity decorated with a mixture of ocher and rust, natural wood, and a series of acoustic panels above, interspersed with glass panels, which provide a visual connection with the atrium and reduce noise.
Perhaps one of the largest socio findings of this space is the double height atrium, which is constituted as a kind of agora or crossroads where the mix of patients, staff and visitors, with private consultation rooms at Soil and patient rooms arranged around the second level of the atrium.
The aim is that the environment forward peace and enjoyment of open spaces including operating theaters, where the coldness of the equipment and technology to sift through large sales come from outside nature.
