Town house in Tokyo


A small area of ​​60 m2, situated in a quiet area of ​​Tokyo, has an irregular shape – the result of dividing the property into smaller pieces in the process of succession. Lot Size (length 12 m, width – 2,7 m to 6 m) is naturally restricted form of the building, and the need for compliance with laws and regulations forced the architects to show the wonders of professional gymnastics.

Stucco exterior walls are painted a dark, almost black acrylic paint that creates a mottled effect is depending on humidity and surface roughness. Despite the cramped building, natural light inside the house is enough – it comes with both ends and on the east side, where randomly placed more than 20 small boxes made of brass.

The house has three floors. On the first floor bedroom and bathroom on the second – the kitchen and living room, two rows of windows stained glass turning in the third, top floor, where in addition to the master bedroom has a pastry shop, from which a steep open staircase leads to the accessible roof.
