Villa in pine forest
This forest, like most of the Dutch landscape is artificial. Pine trees were planted in 50 years for industrial development, but reached its maturity when the logging was banned in the Netherlands, resulting in the entire forest has moved from the discharge of industrial discharge into the natural, with all its limitations. A lot of them, including restrictions on height, total area of buildings above ground, etc. Due to the fact that the required floor area in excess of permitted twice, some functions had to be placed in the underground (or semi-subterranean, due to a small drop of relief) parts. Thus all the “day” function located at the top of the building, and “night” and economic – at the bottom. In this case, elevation difference is enough to provide the required amount of daylight in a residential area.
Y-shape in plan, proposed by the architects, ensures maximum diversity of the surrounding countryside, and also provides solar lighting throughout the daylight hours. In the central part of the “heart” of the house: here posted an entrance hall, dining room, bar and music hall. In the southern and eastern areas posted a spacious studio with a terrace and room-library. Basement is clearly divided areas for guests (with the individual outputs to the courtyard), garage and master bedroom.
Structurally, the house represents the entire set of basic building materials: in situ concrete, steel frame, large amounts of glass (without vertical elements), used in finishing of marble and aluminum.
